The Egyptian club Al Ahly announced today, Friday, the signing of former Zamalek player Ahmed Mustafa "Zizo" on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Zamalek.
On Thursday evening, "Zizo's" contract with Zamalek ended with the conclusion of the 2024-2025 football season in Egypt, after the White Knights won the 2024-2025 Egypt Cup title by defeating Pyramids in the final match.
Al Ahly's management registered the player's contract with the Egyptian Football Association on Friday to ensure his inclusion in the team's primary squad for the 2025 Club World Cup, and the player is expected to join Al Ahly's camp in the United States within hours.
"Zizo" signed a 4-season contract with Al Ahly, with a clause allowing for an additional season extension with mutual consent.
"Zizo's" transfer, after his contract officially ended with Zamalek, to their traditional rival Al Ahly, represents a strong move in the transfer market, reinforcing the ranks of "The Red Devils" with one of Egypt's top players in recent years, known for his high technical abilities and game management skills.
Ahmed Mustafa "Zizo" is considered one of the most important and best players of the White Knights in recent years, due to his goal-scoring contributions in many tournaments won by the team, as well as his standout performances despite the club's setbacks on some occasions.
