Denmark warns of potential Russian attacks after the appearance of suspicious drones

Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warned of the possibility of more hybrid attacks, confirming that Russia poses the main security threat to Europe.
This warning came after air traffic in Denmark was disrupted for the third time in a week due to the appearance of a suspicious drone in the country's airspace. Frederiksen stated in a video speech on Thursday that authorities have not yet identified who is responsible for the drone incidents near airports, but emphasized that Russia seeks to destabilize the European continent.
Frederiksen said: "We expect more of these attacks. They reveal our vulnerabilities," pointing to the need for citizens to be prepared for more acts of sabotage, cyberattacks, and the destruction of undersea cables.
The warning came just hours before the airspace over Læborg Airport and a military base was closed due to suspected illegal drone activity, leading to the cancellation of two flights and the airport being closed for about an hour before reopening. The sighting of the drone has not been confirmed, reflecting the authorities' tension.
Russia denied any involvement in the incidents, while Denmark will participate on Friday in a meeting with about six EU countries to discuss the establishment of a "drone wall" to protect the eastern flank of the bloc.
