The Postal Affairs Management Committee, chaired by the Director of Postal Services, Emad Shahada, discussed on Tuesday with a delegation from the Qatar Postal Service, led by the CEO of Postal Operations, Hamad Al-Fahaida, ways to enhance mutual cooperation in developing postal services and digital transformation in line with international quality standards. The Syrian side highlighted the challenges facing the Syrian postal sector, the available infrastructure, and current services during the remote visual meeting, pointing out the ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and update the system despite difficult circumstances. On the other hand, a member of the Qatari delegation, the CEO of the Digital Information Sector, Hamed Sadek, presented Qatar Post's experience in digital transformation, including key projects such as parcel sorting services, tracking systems, electronic services, mobile applications, smart lockers, customer experience improvement strategies, and logistic services development. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to form working teams in the technical, parcel and express mail, financial payment services, e-commerce, marketing and sales, and postal security fields, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation in digital and technical transformation areas. Additionally, they agreed to prepare an executive plan to train the Syrian postal team under the International Bureau, appoint contact points to monitor progress in each field, and stress the importance of ongoing follow-up and effective communication to implement the meeting outcomes.
