Cooperation Agreement between the Syrian Planning and Statistics Authority and UNICEF to Support Children and Develop Statistical Work

The Planning and Statistics Authority signed an official cooperation agreement today, Saturday, with UNICEF, aimed at enhancing partnership in developmental and service areas directed towards children and adolescents, in addition to developing national statistical work mechanisms that contribute to building an accurate database to support decision-makers and serve the priorities of sustainable development in Syria.
According to the Authority's statement, the agreement includes:
- Supporting developmental programs and social services for children and adolescents
- Developing methodologies for collecting and analyzing statistical data
- Implementing joint training and awareness programs
- Launching Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS) for the period 2025–2026, for the first time in nearly two decades

Both parties emphasized during the signing ceremony the importance of adopting innovative tools in statistical work, linking them to the needs of young age groups, which enhances social justice and ensures that services reach the most vulnerable groups.
For his part, the regional representative of UNICEF expressed the organization's appreciation for the Authority's efforts in updating the national statistical infrastructure, confirming UNICEF's readiness to provide technical support and international expertise to ensure the success of joint programs.
