Al-Shaghour Police Recovers an Ancient Door of the Jewish "Al-Mansha" Synagogue Hours After Its Theft

According to local sources, the department's personnel moved immediately upon receiving the report and carried out intensive search procedures that included reviewing surveillance cameras and interrogating several suspects, which resulted in locating the door and recovering it with minimal damage.
The recovered door is considered one of the rare heritage artifacts and dates back to one of the oldest Jewish temples in Damascus, which remained closed for decades before being reopened recently as part of efforts to preserve the religious and cultural heritage of the old city.
This incident comes in the context of increasing interest in rehabilitating Jewish landmarks in Damascus, amidst a symbolic return of some members of the Syrian Jewish community to visit their old neighborhoods, as previously documented by media reports.
