Complete closure of the King Hussein Bridge between the West Bank and Jordan starting Wednesday

Both the Palestinian Authority for Crossings and Borders and the Public Security Directorate in Jordan announced on Tuesday a complete closure of the King Hussein Bridge to the movement of passengers and goods in both directions, starting from Wednesday until further notice.
The announcement of this closure from both sides came after Israel had closed the crossing last Thursday following a security incident. The decision came after Israel announced that a Jordanian driver who was driving a truck carrying aid to Gaza fired at its soldiers at the crossing, resulting in the death of two of them, noting that Amman has opened an investigation into the incident.
This closure has significant implications for the movement of people, given the vital importance of this crossing. It is worth mentioning that many Palestinians from the West Bank use the border crossing at the King Hussein Bridge, which Israel refers to as the Allenby Bridge and is known on the Palestinian side as the Karama Crossing, to travel from Jordan to other countries.
This importance lies in the fact that this crossing is "the only one that allows Palestinians from the West Bank to leave without crossing Israeli territory," especially in light of Israeli restrictions that "prevent Palestinians from traveling through its airports unless they hold special permits."
