Drug Seizure Worth One Billion Dollars in the Arabian Sea Through International Naval Efforts

In one of the largest and most dangerous operations against drug trafficking in the region, the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) announced on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the success of a massive operation that resulted in the seizure of drug shipments worth more than 972 million US dollars in the waters of the Arabian Sea.
The operation was carried out by a ship belonging to the Pakistan Navy, which operates within the Combined Task Force (CTF_150) led by Saudi Arabia and based in Bahrain.
This force is part of an international coalition that includes 47 countries, including the United States, France, and Spain, and is concerned with combating illegal activities in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean, and the Horn of Africa.
* Operation Details: Two Sailboats and One Billion Dollars of Drugs
According to the official statement issued by the Combined Maritime Forces, Pakistani naval personnel boarded a first sailboat on Saturday at sea, where they seized more than two tons of crystal methamphetamine, valued at approximately 822.4 million dollars.
Only 48 hours later, the Pakistan Navy executed a second operation, boarding a second sailboat, where they seized 350 kilograms of methamphetamine valued at 140 million dollars, in addition to 50 kilograms of cocaine with a market value of 10 million dollars.

The field commander of the operation, Commodore Fahd Al-Juwaid, who leads the Combined Task Force 150, described the operation as "one of the most successful drug seizures" in the history of the Combined Maritime Forces, due to its direct impact on curbing cross-border criminal smuggling networks.
This operation underscores the effectiveness of international maritime cooperation in deterring smuggling and criminal activities, and highlights the prominent leadership role of Saudi Arabia in protecting vital maritime corridors in the region.
