Former Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Bashar al-Jaafari, accused the Syrian authorities of seizing his private real estate in the villages of al-Sham and the suburb of Qudsaya, describing the action as "blatant political revenge."

Al-Jaafari's accusation came in a statement posted on his official Facebook page, where he emphasized that this step represents "an unjustified deprivation of a Syrian citizen of his most basic constitutional and legitimate rights."

He pointed out that he legally owned these properties for over twenty years, making the seizure "a flagrant violation of the sanctity of individual ownership guaranteed by national constitutions, international laws, and divine laws."

Al-Jaafari noted that this incident is not isolated but part of a "systematic policy" being implemented in other areas such as the coast, al-Ghab plain, and the western countryside of Hama, where citizens' properties are seized under "various pretexts," as he put it.

Al-Jaafari stressed that targeting the property of a diplomat still in office increases the seriousness of the situation, calling for an end to these actions.
