The Australian government has issued a directive to its citizens in Lebanon and Israel to consider leaving via available commercial routes, amid the deteriorating security situation in the region.
The recommendations also included the families of Australian employees working in both countries, with a warning of escalating security risks.
This comes alongside similar warnings issued by the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, which requested non-emergency government staff and their families to leave, while the U.S. State Department issued a level four travel warning for Lebanon, amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese areas.
