Aramco Temporarily Shifts Oil to Yanbu Amid Hormuz Strait Crisis

In an exceptional move to ensure the continuity of oil supplies to global markets, Saudi Aramco announced the temporary shift of crude oil shipments to King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, overlooking the Red Sea, following the closure of the Hormuz Strait due to tensions arising from the Iranian war.
The company confirmed, through statements reported by Saudi Al-Ikhbariya channel, that it is closely monitoring the situation to make the appropriate decision to return operations to normal as soon as conditions stabilize, emphasizing its commitment to the safety and continuity of oil supplies.
Data from oil tanker tracking, collected by Bloomberg, showed that five giant oil tankers were loaded this month at the Yanbu port, raising exports to three times the average for February, indicating a clear response from Saudi Arabia to ensure the flow of oil to global markets.
Saudi Arabia typically ships most of its oil from Ras Tanura port in the Arabian Gulf, but current conditions mean that shipments are facing difficulties leaving the area as usual, although loading operations there have not stopped.
This move reflects the ability of the world's largest oil exporter to adapt to crises and maintains the flow of millions of barrels to international markets, even amid geopolitical and security challenges in the region.
