An Israeli delegation heads to Sharm El Sheikh to start negotiations on implementing Trump's plan to stop the war in Gaza

An Israeli high-level delegation headed today to the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh to begin a new round of negotiations regarding the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan aimed at stopping the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli Ynet website, the delegation includes the Coordinator for Prisoners and Missing Persons Gal Hirsch, along with senior officials from the "Shabak" and "Mossad" agencies and several members of specialized task forces.
This move comes after a delegation from the "Hamas" movement arrived in Cairo yesterday, Sunday, as part of the joint Egyptian-American efforts to advance the settlement process and end the war that has been ongoing since October 2023.
Trump announced on September 29, 2025, his plan consisting of 20 main points, setting October 5 of this year as a deadline for "Hamas" to accept it, threatening with "total destruction" in case of rejection.
On October 3, "Hamas" announced its readiness to release all Israeli prisoners and hand over the administration of Gaza to an independent Palestinian committee, but it did not agree to disarm or relinquish its political influence in the sector.
For his part, Trump confirmed on October 4 that Israel agreed to what he described as the "yellow line for withdrawal," considering it a first step towards implementing the plan and "ending the war completely," as he put it.
