The Algerian authorities have officially initiated steps aimed at canceling the air services agreement signed with the United Arab Emirates, according to the Algerian news agency.
The agency clarified that the agreement, which was signed on May 13, 2013, and later ratified by a presidential decree on December 30, 2014, includes a clear legal mechanism in case of a desire to terminate it.
According to the terms of the agreement, Algeria must notify the UAE side of the cancellation decision through official diplomatic channels, as well as inform the Secretary-General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to take the necessary actions within the frameworks of the international organization.
