A Special Security Campaign in Aleppo Takes Down Drug Dealers and Eliminates One of the Major Wanted Individuals

As part of its efforts to combat crime and establish security, the internal security forces in Aleppo Governorate carried out a large-scale field campaign targeting the Al-Nayrab Camp neighborhood, based on precise intelligence information that was collected and analyzed in advance.

The campaign resulted in immediate outcomes, as several wanted individuals on charges of drug trafficking were pursued. The developments during the execution led to a tragic incident, where one of the wanted individuals shot at one of the officers while attempting to escape during the arrest attempt.

In this regard, Colonel Mohammad Abdul Ghani, the head of internal security in Aleppo, stated to the SANA agency: "One of the wanted individuals attempted to flee when trying to arrest him during the operation, which necessitated the intervention of one of the officers who shot at him, resulting in his death."

To ensure justice and integrity, Colonel Abdul Ghani confirmed in his statement that "the officer who fired the shot has been referred to investigation and the relevant judicial authorities to ensure accountability according to the law."

The security chief revealed the criminal background of the wanted individual, indicating that he "is considered one of the fugitives from justice, involved in several cases, most notably managing smuggling networks and drug trafficking, and several search warrants have been issued against him by the relevant judicial authorities."

The forces did not stop at the first operation, as Colonel Abdul Ghani noted that the internal security forces began deploying additional reinforcements in the neighborhood to ensure the apprehension of other wanted individuals and prevent any threat to public security, arresting several of them and referring them for investigation.
