36 Countries Provide Sustainable Security Support to Ukraine and Zelensky Confirms Readiness for Peace

The spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pascal Confavre announced that 36 countries have expressed their desire to provide tangible and lasting support to Ukraine, with a particular focus on security guarantees.
Confavre added in his statements that these guarantees are ready after a long series of working meetings, noting that the recent London meeting was pivotal in demonstrating the integrated European position, based on two parallel tracks: supporting peace efforts and being ready to establish practical frameworks for peace as soon as negotiations begin.
The spokesperson confirmed that France is working to clearly convey the European position to American allies, while continuing coordination to ensure balanced support that combines diplomacy and security preparations.
* Plan for a Ceasefire
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky clarified that Ukrainian and European officials will soon meet to discuss the details of a ceasefire plan, emphasizing that the main goal is not to end the war immediately, but to provide a ceasefire as a starting point for diplomatic efforts.
Zelensky added that the anticipated meeting of his advisors will be held next Friday or Saturday to discuss the details of the plan.
The Ukrainian president indicated that the European Union is expected to provide financial support to Ukraine for additional years, whether for the war or for reconstruction, explaining that he is not asking for war for decades, but for stable financial support over a specified period.
He anticipated that EU support would continue for two to three years, based on recent statements by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Zelensky clarified that the funds will be used for reconstruction if the war ends soon, or to purchase weapons if conflicts continue, also mentioning discussions in the European Union about granting Ukraine a compensation loan backed by frozen Russian assets, which are valued at 140 billion euros ( 163 billion dollars ).
