Rescue of a Syrian Child After 16 Hours of Falling into a Deep Well in Raqqa Countryside

Rescue teams successfully pulled out the Syrian child "Ali Saleh Abdi" (4 years old) from a well that is 50 meters deep in the countryside of Raqqa province, after being trapped inside for about 16 hours under extremely difficult conditions.
The child fell into the well while accompanying his father on a family visit to the area of Tal Abyad in northern Syria. Footage circulating shows the first moments of discovering the child, where his body appeared covered with a layer of dirt, as he struggled to move one hand while responding to the voices of the rescuers from above the well.
Local civil defense teams faced significant difficulties in reaching the child due to the great depth of the well and the unstable nature of the soil. The teams initially resorted to inserting a surveillance camera and an audio communication system to monitor the child's condition, who was suffering from shortness of breath, and managed to provide him with water and a little food.
One of the photos taken during the operation evoked feelings of sympathy after it showed one of the rescuers struggling with frustration due to the difficulty of the task. After a failed rescue attempt that relied on lowering another child to pull "Ali" out, the teams had to change their strategy and resort to digging a parallel tunnel to the well, which ultimately succeeded in retrieving the child.
"Ali" was immediately transferred to the hospital for necessary treatment, with no details disclosed about his health condition. The rescue operation received widespread attention on social media platforms, where followers praised the tremendous efforts made by the rescuers despite the technical and environmental challenges they faced.
