Russian experts detect third strong solar flare in 24 hours

The Institute of Applied Geophysics in Moscow recorded three strong solar flares in the past twenty-four hours today, Friday, in notable solar activity.
The institute revealed in its statement that the latest of these flares occurred on Friday morning in the sunspot region number 4168 (N04W43), and was classified as M2.8, starting at 06:53 Moscow time and lasting for 32 minutes.
On Thursday, August 7, there were also two strong flares in the same region; the first was classified as M2.2, and the second – which was the strongest – was classified as M3.9, starting at 14:31 and lasting for 68 minutes.
Experts pointed out that the current month of August has so far recorded 11 strong solar flares, most of which originated from the same sunspot, with the strongest being classified as M4.4.
