The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has announced its official sanctions against several Real Madrid players for their behavior following a match against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. The investigation focused on the players' actions after the final whistle, with Rodrygo, who scored the decisive penalty kick, and other Real Madrid players celebrating with the fans. UEFA fined Rodrygo €40,000, Kylian Mbappe €30,000, and Dani Ceballos €20,000, while Vinicius Junior was completely acquitted. If the violation is repeated within a year, both Rodrygo and Mbappe will face a one-match suspension. UEFA decided not to immediately suspend the players, opting for financial penalties only. Real Madrid and coach Carlo Ancelotti were relieved by the decision, allowing them to count on the German defender in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal. Rodrygo will not face suspension after the events of March 12 during the team's celebrations at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
