Next Sunday.. Unifying the direction of the Corniche Al-Midan road in Damascus.

The Damascus Governorate has announced the implementation of a plan to unify the direction of the Corniche Al-Midan road, starting next Sunday, in order to alleviate the daily traffic congestion, especially during peak hours.
According to media sources citing the Director of Traffic and Transport Engineering in Damascus Governorate, Engineer Yasser Bastouni, "the road will become one-way only, from Jam' Al-Hasan roundabout to the Mujtahid intersection, with the removal of the cement median to facilitate vehicle movement and improve traffic flow."
He added that "access to Corniche Al-Midan from the Mujtahid side will be through the Bab Msalla roundabout towards the Old Zahira Street below the southern ring bridge, which will also be one-way."
It is worth noting that Damascus is experiencing severe traffic congestion, with official estimates indicating that the number of moving vehicles in the city exceeds one million, including over 800,000 registered cars within the capital, and more than 200,000 cars coming from neighboring provinces.
