Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Washington's decision to delay supplying Kyiv with "Tomahawk" missiles contributed to reducing Russia's interest in the diplomatic path, considering that this delay gave Moscow the impression of weak Western military pressure, which pushed it to harden its positions.
Zelensky added, in statements reported by Al Jazeera, that Russia "is doing everything it can to reject the diplomatic approach," pointing out that the Kremlin is betting on time and the battlefield instead of political dialogue.
These statements come at a time when international calls are increasing to resume negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, amid escalating field tensions in eastern Ukraine, and diplomatic tensions between Washington and Moscow regarding arming Ukraine.
