Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed today, Friday, that the international alliance is capable of protecting the energy sector in Ukraine by supplying Kyiv with gas and necessary equipment, emphasizing the importance of European support in facing Russian threats.

Zelensky pointed out that there are several "Patriot" air defense systems ready in Europe, which can be used immediately to protect lives in Ukraine, calling for a comprehensive ban on all Russian energy companies and preventing them from entering global markets, as an effective means to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He added: "We must pressure Russia to negotiate seriously, and I am ready for any negotiations," stressing that Tomahawk missiles and quality weapons represent a real means of pressure, especially since Putin "abandoned diplomacy as soon as he stopped talking about it."

These statements come amid rising tensions on the eastern fronts and ongoing international efforts to secure vital infrastructure in Ukraine, amid warnings of a potential energy crisis during the winter.
