He has held several leadership positions within the Ministry of Education before his appointment, known for his competence and discipline at work. On the same day the decree was issued, Anan represented the Syrian Arab Republic at the regional ministerial meeting on education held in Doha, Qatar, discussing the challenges facing Syrian children returning to the country, as well as issues of psychological and social support and ways to reintegrate them into the Syrian educational system.
