Yemen: 11 People Die After Bus and Truck Collision in Abyan

On Tuesday, 11 people lost their lives in a tragic collision between a passenger bus and a truck in Abyan province, southern Yemen. The accident resulted in a massive fire that engulfed all the passengers on the bus.
The Abyan Security Administration stated in an official report that the accident occurred in the "Al-Haraj" area due to an improper overtaking maneuver at one of the dangerous curves, leading to the collision of a "Hiace" bus with a truck loaded with a shipment of Qurans.
The report added that the bus's reliance on gas fuel caused the fire to erupt immediately upon impact, resulting in the deaths of everyone inside.
Immediately, forensic teams and traffic police rushed to the scene of the accident, and the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, while the bodies of the victims were taken to Al-Jumhuriya Hospital in the temporary capital, Aden.
This accident comes at a time when Omani authorities revealed that the total compensation for traffic accidents in 2025 reached 79 million Omani Riyals, indicating the scale of risks posed by traffic accidents in the region.
