Reuters news agency has obtained a diplomatic cable revealing that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has urged several world governments not to participate in a United Nations conference scheduled to take place next week in New York to discuss the future of the two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.

According to the dated cable on June 10th, the United States considers any "anti-Israel" steps taken after the conference as a direct challenge to its foreign policy interests, warning that participating countries may face "diplomatic consequences."

Washington has reiterated its rejection of any unilateral recognition of a "presumed" Palestinian state, deeming such steps as undermining the negotiation process, as per the document.

So far, the U.S. State Department has not issued an official comment on the content of the cable.
