Venezuela Denies "Secret Deal" with Washington to Remove Maduro from Power

In a fiery response, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez firmly denied yesterday, Thursday, the accuracy of what was published by the American newspaper "Miami Herald" regarding her and her brother Jorge Rodríguez entering into secret negotiations with the United States aimed at removing President Nicolás Maduro from power in exchange for guarantees of their continued hold on power.
Rodríguez described this news as "completely false" and "part of a dirty psychological campaign," and harshly attacked the American newspaper on the "Telegram" platform, stating:
"This is a lie!! Another media outlet added to the landfill of psychological warfare against the Venezuelan people. They have no morals or conscience, and they only promote lies."
She also confirmed that the Venezuelan leadership is united behind Maduro, adding:
"The Bolivarian revolution has a unified political and military leadership around the will of the people."
She attached a post with a picture of her with President Maduro, with a clear comment:
"Together, united with President Maduro."
The "Miami Herald" had claimed, without revealing its sources, that Delcy Rodríguez and her brother Jorge, the President of the National Assembly, had entered into talks with American officials aimed at finding a political exit that involves removing Maduro from the scene, in exchange for keeping some pillars of the regime in their positions.
* Escalation in the Region .. Venezuela Complains to the United Nations
On the ground, the United States has escalated its military presence around Venezuela, deploying seven warships in the Caribbean and others in the Gulf of Mexico, as part of what it described as a "drug trafficking combat operation."
In response, the Venezuelan government called on the United Nations Security Council to consider these strikes and American movements as "illegal," describing them as a threat to national sovereignty.
