UNICEF: Gaza's premature infants share oxygen masks amid the collapse of the healthcare system

The organization explained that the ongoing war for two years between Israel and Hamas has led to increased stress and malnutrition rates among pregnant women, resulting in a rise in the number of premature and low-birth-weight infants, who now make up one-fifth of newborns in Gaza, according to estimates from the World Health Organization.
Reports added that the recent Israeli attack on the city of Gaza in the northern sector caused the closure of hospitals there, which has doubled the pressure on the few medical facilities still operating in the south, where the number does not exceed 14 hospitals out of 36, and all are functioning partially.
