Turkish Foreign Minister: Stability in Syria is Essential for Europe's Security

Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, called on the international community to support the Syrian government in its efforts for reconstruction and providing essential services, warning that the stability of Syria is "a key element in ensuring the security and peace of Europe".
This came during a speech he delivered at a conference organized by the Institute of International Relations in the Italian capital, Rome, where he emphasized the "importance of the commitment of regional countries and the international community to ensure the unity and sovereignty of Syria," noting that "achieving prosperity in Syria will positively reflect on regional and international security".
In a direct attack on Israel, Fidan demanded the "necessity of pressuring it to stop its repeated assaults on Syrian territory," explaining that "Israel seeks to weaken its neighbors and undermine their stability, and does not wish to see economically or politically successful countries in its vicinity." He added: "The real goal of Israel is geographical expansion, not security as it claims."
The Turkish minister then moved to the situation in the Gaza Strip, describing what is happening there as a "real test for the international community," and affirming that "recognizing Israel's crimes and revealing the facts is the first step towards building a more just world." He warned, saying: "There is no room for evasion... Israel is committing genocide in Gaza."
These statements come at a time when international calls to support the stability of Syria are noticeably increasing, as Syrian sovereignty remains the cornerstone of any comprehensive and sustainable political solution.
