The Syrian Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management announced today, Saturday, that the Turkish authorities have approved the dispatch of helicopters to participate in extinguishing the fire in Jabal Turkman in the countryside of Latakia. The Ministry stated through its official Telegram account that the coordination was done through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to an official request from the Syrian side. It added: "The fires have been ongoing for four days in the Rabia area, intensifying due to winds and high temperatures." It confirmed escalating concerns about the fire spreading to populated villages and the presence of war remnants in the area complicating the tasks of firefighting teams and hindering ground access.
