In a fiery speech during the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy, President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, asserting that the United States "will not wait years" to deliver a new strike if Tehran resumes its nuclear program.
Before a crowd of U.S. Navy personnel at the Norfolk base on Sunday evening, Trump said:
"If Iran resumes its nuclear program, we will not wait long this time," referring to the air and missile attack launched by Washington on June 22, which targeted key Iranian nuclear facilities.
* "Midnight Hammer" .. A Precise and Calculated Strike
Trump detailed the surprise U.S. attack, dubbed "Midnight Hammer," explaining that:
• 7 B-2 Spirit bombers participated in executing the strike
• They dropped bunker-busting bombs of the GBU-57 type
• While 30 Tomahawk missiles were launched from an American submarine stationed in the area.
The attack targeted sensitive nuclear facilities including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, and Trump confirmed that:
"B-2 bombers hit every target with complete accuracy, and the goal was to ensure the crippling of any Iranian capability to resume nuclear enrichment."
* "We waited 22 years .. and we will not repeat that"
Trump criticized previous U.S. administrations, saying:
"Our forces trained for 22 years to execute this mission, and it was only carried out after I came to the White House."
He emphasized that the current administration will not repeat the long wait scenario, stating:
"We will not wait another 22 years to respond .. any Iranian attempt to revive the nuclear program will be met with an immediate and strong response."
* Iranian Response and Heightened Readiness
In response, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander General Mohammad Pakpour stated that the naval forces of the Guard enjoy "very high readiness and morale," whether at sea, on islands, or along the coasts.
It is noteworthy that the U.S. attack came just before the sixth round of nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran, leading to the suspension of talks and renewed tensions in the region.
