The Syrian Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources is seeking to form committees to take over oil fields in northeastern Syria and oversee their production, as revealed by an official in the Ministry of Oil. The Ministry of Oil stated that technical teams will be formed to study the situation of the fields in the east of the country. According to local media in Syria, the share of the "SDF" from the fields' production will be one-third, with the rest going to the Syrian state. In February, the Syrian Ministry of Oil disclosed that the self-administration of northern and eastern Syria was receiving 15,000 barrels of oil per day under an official agreement. This agreement is part of specific measures to ensure the flow of oil from areas under the self-administration's control to the relevant authorities, with clear quantities of agreed-upon production. In addition to oil, the agreement includes the delivery of one million cubic meters of gas daily, allocated to power generation stations, contributing to supporting infrastructure and meeting energy needs in the region. The previous agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces "SDF" was reviewed, and amendments were made to some of its provisions to ensure the continuity of cooperation and the organization of the production and distribution process. According to the amended agreement, the beneficiaries receive 15% of the oil field production in northeastern Syria. This amendment is a step towards regulating the relationship between the parties involved and providing a legal framework to ensure fair distribution of resources, while continuing to regulate production according to agreed-upon requirements.
