Kuwait International Airport witnessed a security alert after a bomb threat was reported on Gulf Air flight GF213 heading to Kuwait from Bahrain, prompting authorities to take strict precautionary measures and safely disembark all passengers in an isolated area.
The official spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Administration, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, confirmed that the passengers are in good health and are undergoing thorough security checks in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, while monitoring the situation to ensure everyone's safety without affecting scheduled flights.
On the other hand, Gulf Air revealed that a disturbance by one of the passengers triggered the alert, leading to the immediate detention of the passenger upon landing by airport police, with the situation being handled in full coordination with Kuwaiti authorities.
The airline expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the incident, emphasizing that passenger and crew safety are its top priorities, and commended the professional and swift response of Kuwaiti security authorities in ensuring the highest security and safety standards.
