The Supreme Judicial Council Suspends Legal Deadlines in Sweida Until Further Notice

The Ministry of Justice clarified in an official circular that the decision came after the unfortunate events that Sweida witnessed, which led to the disruption of work in courts and financial departments, in addition to the interruption of transportation between cities and towns, preventing citizens from filing lawsuits and appeals within the specified legal deadlines.
The decision is based on the provisions of the Judicial Authority Law and the Criminal Procedure Law, and based on a letter from the Bar Association in Sweida, and the requirements of the work interest, where it was decided to suspend legal deadlines starting from July 13 until further notice is issued later, which will include an announcement of the end of the emergency circumstances the province is going through.
The Ministry of Justice confirms that this measure comes within the framework of preserving citizens' rights and ensuring justice, amid the disruption of essential services that hinder access to judicial facilities.
