The Moroccan government announced, following a meeting chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, its understanding of the demands raised by the youth of Morocco during the recent protests, confirming its readiness to engage in a 'responsible and constructive' dialogue that leads to realistic and implementable solutions.

An official statement clarified that the government is mindful of the recent royal directives calling for the launch of new development programs, noting that these priorities will be reflected in the 2026 budget law, particularly concerning the qualification of territorial areas and reducing social disparities.

In direct response to the 'Generation Z 212' protests, the government emphasized that 'the ambition for reform expressed by these youth movements aligns with major reform initiatives,' foremost among them the reform of the healthcare system through the qualification of hospitals and increasing the number of medical staff.

Moroccan cities have witnessed youth demonstrations raising slogans demanding social justice and criticizing what they described as the government's 'wrong priorities,' which invested in sports infrastructure in preparation for the 2030 World Cup, while health and education services lagged behind.

Observers believe that the emergence of 'Generation Z,' which combines digital activism and field protests, reflects a shift in social mobilization methods and presents authorities with the challenge of responding to the demands of a new generation more connected to justice and equity.
