The Syrian Minister of Energy, Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashir, on Tuesday, conducted a field tour in Deir ez-Zor Governorate accompanied by Governor Ghassan Al-Sayed Ahmad and the Minister's Assistant for Water Resources, Osama Abu Zaid, which included several vital projects in the water and electricity sectors.
The delegation began its tour by visiting the Euphrates Water Station, which is the main source for supplying about 500,000 people in the area, with a production capacity of up to 60,000 cubic meters per day. The minister was briefed on the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works in cooperation with UNICEF, aimed at enhancing the station's efficiency and ensuring the continuity of supplies to the residents.
The tour also included the radio conversion station (20/66 kV), where the minister listened to an explanation about the new electrical line project that will connect the Taim power station to the radio station, which will enhance the stability of the electrical network in the governorate.
Al-Bashir confirmed that the ministry is moving forward with the rehabilitation of infrastructure in various governorates, in cooperation with local authorities and international organizations, emphasizing that the goal is to secure basic services and support development and reconstruction pathways.
