The Last Leader of Hamas.. Who is he? And how does he escape from Israel's grip?"

With the start of the Israeli ground operation "Gideon's Chariots 2" in the Gaza Strip, the name Izz al-Din al-Haddad emerges, whom Tel Aviv describes as "the last prominent leader of Hamas in Gaza" after the death of Mohammed al-Sanwar, becoming the main target in the ongoing military operations.
According to media reports, al-Haddad has survived six assassination attempts, three of which occurred during the current war. Sources indicate that a special Israeli force attempted to arrest him in a house believed to be his hiding place, but they were unable to find him.
Al-Haddad is known for his extreme caution and reliance on a very tight circle of close associates, while two of his sons, who were active in the movement, were killed during the war.
In a previous interview with him in January 2024, al-Haddad denied that Iran or Hezbollah had prior knowledge of the October 7 attack, but he confirmed that what he described as "the brothers in the resistance axis" were aware of the outlines of the operation, while the timing of its execution remained confined to a narrow scope.
According to the "Wall Street Journal," one of the former Israeli hostages met with al-Haddad five times during his captivity, noting that the latter spoke to them in Hebrew and introduced himself as the person responsible for all the hostages in Gaza, even showing them pictures of other hostages via his phone.
Last July, the Israeli army distributed flyers in Gaza that included a picture of what was described as al-Haddad's "new appearance." The spokesperson for the Israeli army in Arabic, Avichai Adraee, confirmed that the picture belonged to him, indicating that he was hiding inside one of the tunnels in Khan Younis.
