The Israeli army announced on Saturday evening that it targeted a site in the Jebshit area in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of a prominent commander in the Radwan force affiliated with Hezbollah, which is the special force considered one of the most prominent military formations of the party.
According to the army's statement, the operation came in response to "direct threats from elements of the force on the northern border," without revealing the identity of the targeted commander or additional details about the nature of the operation.
Jebshit is considered one of the areas that has witnessed repeated escalation in recent weeks, amid increasing tension on the Lebanese-Israeli border and mutual accusations of violating the informal truce.
