The Israeli army announced today, Friday, the assassination of a leader in the Lebanese "Hezbollah" who held the position of head of logistics for the southern front.
The army stated in an official statement that the leader named Abbas Hassan Karki was killed in an attack targeting him in the Nabatieh area in southern Lebanon. The statement added that Karki was "supervising the reconstruction of combat capabilities in Hezbollah and contributing to the rebuilding of military infrastructure south of the Litani River, which was destroyed during the last war".
The Israeli army pointed out that Karki "managed the transfer and storage of weapons in southern Lebanon, and held a series of positions within the party in recent years," and considered that his activities "constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon".
The statement confirmed that Israel "will continue to work to eliminate any threat to its security," referring to the ongoing operations against what it described as the military threats of the party.
