The military spokesperson for the Houthi group in Yemen said in a statement broadcast on television today, Saturday, that the group will target American ships in the Red Sea if the United States participates in Israeli attacks on Iran.

The spokesperson added: "In the event of Washington's involvement in the attack and aggression against Iran alongside the Israeli enemy, the armed forces will target its ships and warships in the Red Sea".

The United States launched intensive attacks on the group this year, before President Donald Trump halted the attack after both sides agreed to a ceasefire that does not target either party.

Last week, the Houthi group announced that it carried out attacks on Israel in coordination with Tehran, marking the first time the group allied with Iran has declared such cooperation in carrying out attacks.

The Houthi group sought to launch attacks on Israel, most of which were intercepted, describing them as a campaign in support of Palestinians in Gaza during the ongoing war between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" since the attack led by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Israel also carried out a series of attacks in response to the Houthis.
