The Final Statement of the Gulf-British Ministerial Meeting Confirms Support for the Syrian Government

At the conclusion of the Gulf-British ministerial meeting today, Wednesday, a joint statement was issued confirming the parties' commitment to support the efforts of the Syrian government to achieve a comprehensive, representative, and non-sectarian political transition, in line with the aspirations of the Syrian people for a stable and prosperous future.

The participants welcomed the agreement on a roadmap to resolve the crisis in the Sweida Governorate, considering it a positive step towards enhancing local stability. They also emphasized the necessity of addressing ongoing humanitarian needs and working to promote economic recovery in various affected areas of Syria.

The statement also stressed the importance of the full implementation of the agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, due to its role in calming the situation and ensuring security and administrative coordination in the shared areas.

In a regional context, the attendees called on Israel to cease its aggressions against Syrian territories, affirming the necessity for all parties to adhere to the 1974 disengagement agreement, which ensures respect for Syrian sovereignty and prevents military escalation in the region.
