The European Union fails to agree on the 19th sanctions package against Russia

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, announced that the foreign ministers of the member states were unable to reach an agreement on the 19th package of sanctions to be imposed on Russia.
This came during a press conference following the meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, where Borrell said: "We discussed the sanctions and this issue will be addressed later during the summit scheduled for October 23-24."
The European Commission had previously presented its proposals regarding new restrictions that include, among other things, a ban on importing Russian liquefied natural gas by 2027, restrictions on imports and exports, and sanctions on the banking sector and cryptocurrencies, in addition to personal sanctions against several individuals and institutions.
Earlier, Borrell confirmed that EU countries have not yet reached a consensus on the confiscation of Russian assets under what is known as the "compensation loan plan," reflecting ongoing disagreements among member states regarding the details of the new package.
