The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, affirmed his country's commitment to supporting the Syrian people, and respecting Syria's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release today, Sunday, that Shoukry met with Masoud Paul, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs, and a senior advisor for African affairs, exchanging views on various regional issues.

During the meeting, Shoukry emphasized Egypt's keenness to support the Syrian people, and to respect Syria's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, aiming for Syria to be a source of stability in the region. He also highlighted the necessity of launching an inclusive political process involving all components and spectra of Syrian society to overcome this critical phase.
