The UAE has announced the launch of a new Arabic-language artificial intelligence model, reflecting its continuous efforts to become a global player in this advanced field. This model is part of the UAE's ambitious efforts to leverage its modern technologies, having allocated billions of dollars to support this technological transformation. Developed by the Advanced Technology Research Council in Abu Dhabi, the model named "Arabic Falcon" relies on original Arabic language data, including classical Arabic and regional dialects. It outperforms other models in the region due to its effectiveness in handling the diversity of the Arabic language. Faisal Al Bannai, the Secretary-General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, emphasized that the strength of artificial intelligence does not depend on size but on the effectiveness of solutions and their usability. "Arabic Falcon" aims to reduce the need for extensive resources or complex technical expertise, making it a highly efficient model. This step is part of regional movements in the Gulf region to develop artificial intelligence technologies, with Saudi Arabia also working on an advanced linguistic model in Arabic. Furthermore, the recent visit of US President Donald Trump to the UAE and Saudi Arabia provided an opportunity to sign an agreement enhancing cooperation in this field, allowing the UAE to access advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
