Sources from the villages of northern Qadmous countryside reported that snow has caused the closure of all roads leading to several villages in the area. The sources indicated that the roads leading to the villages of Al-Tawahiin, Al-Shandakha, Jadidah, Al-Kharbah, Mseiyat, and several other villages in the Qadmous countryside and Banias have been completely cut off as of 9 p.m. today.
The sources explained that the snow thickness on the roads has reached more than 20 cm, making traffic impossible and leading to a complete halt in movement. Snow continues to fall heavily in most mountain villages in the countryside of the province, resulting in the closure of roads leading to Mount Prophet Mata and Mount Prophet Saleh in the countryside of Al-Dreikish and Safita.
The residents continue to endure harsh weather conditions, awaiting the soon reopening of roads with the assistance of emergency and maintenance teams. It is worth mentioning that measures have been taken to deal with the repercussions of the snow and to secure the needs of the affected residents in the impacted area.
