Slovenia Summit: European Calls for Ceasefire in Gaza and Flow of Humanitarian Aid

The Spanish Prime Minister confirmed in his speech the importance of continuing the humanitarian truce, stressing that the sustainable solution lies in moving towards a political settlement based on the two-state solution.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Portugal called for facilitating the flow of food and medical aid to the sector, warning of the worsening humanitarian disaster.
The Prime Minister of Slovenia emphasized that Europe is required to play a more effective role in the Palestinian issue, considering that "there is no justification for obstructing the arrival of aid," and also called for allowing international media to enter Gaza to cover the ground situation.
The summit issued a joint statement affirming its support for the idea of forming international peacekeeping forces in Gaza by a decision from the Security Council and the United Nations, in a step aimed at stabilizing the ceasefire and ensuring the protection of civilians.
The Prime Minister of Cyprus also announced his country's readiness to contribute to any regional or international effort aimed at achieving peace, pointing to his country's geographical proximity to Gaza and the humanitarian responsibilities it entails.
