Today, Monday, the Spanish city of Seville witnessed massive demonstrations led by thousands of women, protesting the significant delays in conducting early breast cancer screenings, at a time when October is supposed to be a global awareness month for this disease.
The protesters expressed their anger at the inaction of health authorities in the Andalusia region, where reports revealed that more than two thousand women have not received their test results in recent years, leading to increased public anxiety and turning the issue into a political crisis that threatens the credibility of the local government.
The protests, which raised pink banners, called for urgent reforms in the healthcare system and ensured women's right to preventive care, amid widespread solidarity from civil society organizations.
