Saudi Arabia turns the tables on Indonesia with a 3-2 victory and approaches qualification for the 2026 World Cup

The Saudi national team achieved an exciting victory over their Indonesian counterpart with a score of 3-2, after turning around an early deficit in the match to a valuable win, in the opening of the second group of the Asian playoff qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, in the match held on Wednesday evening at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.
The Indonesian team took an early lead in the 11th minute through Kevin Disk from a penalty kick, before Saleh Abu Shamat managed to equalize for Saudi Arabia just six minutes later, with a powerful shot from outside the area following a wonderful pass from Musab Al-Juwair.
Firas Al-Buraikan added the second goal for the Green team from a penalty in the 36th minute, then strengthened the score with the third goal in the 62nd minute after following up on Al-Juwair's shot that was saved by the goalkeeper.
Two minutes before the end of regular time, Disk reduced the gap again for Indonesia from a penalty kick, ending the match with an exciting Saudi victory.
The match witnessed the expulsion of player Mohammed Kanno in the third minute of stoppage time, after he protested a refereeing decision, which will prevent him from participating in the next match against Iraq.
With this victory, the Saudi national team has placed one foot in the finals of the 2026 World Cup, leading their group with three valuable points at the beginning of the Asian playoff journey.
