Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, confirmed that his country's position on the Palestinian issue remains steadfast and firm, noting that Riyadh, in cooperation with Paris, recently led an international conference to revive the two-state solution path.
In his speech before the General Assembly, Al-Wasel condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of two laws aimed at annexing parts of the West Bank and imposing sovereignty over illegal settlements, considering this a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.
He emphasized that the Kingdom firmly rejects settlement and expansionist policies and reaffirms its full support for the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also called on the international community to bear its responsibilities and to pressure for an end to Israeli violations, and to move forward towards a just and comprehensive settlement that achieves security and stability in the region.
