Saudi Arabia announces the launch of an "Emergency Coalition" to support the financing of the Palestinian Authority with international participation

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Foreign Minister, announced the launch of the "International Emergency Coalition" to support direct financing for the Palestinian Authority, with the participation of several international partners.
The announcement came during a press conference held by His Highness in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, where he revealed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is providing direct financial support of $90 million to the Palestinian Authority.
The Saudi Foreign Minister explained that this emergency coalition is the result of the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to implement the two-state solution, which was chaired by the Kingdom in partnership with the European Union and the Kingdom of Norway.
In discussing the broader context of the initiative, His Highness Minister Faisal bin Farhan said: "The meeting came in the context of the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the New York Declaration, which calls for the adoption of the two-state solution, representing a historic international consensus on the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state."
He also noted the increasing international momentum to support Palestinian rights, reminding that "the number of countries recognizing the State of Palestine has reached 159 countries, representing the overwhelming majority of United Nations membership."
