Rasha Sharbatji denies that the series "Matakh Al Madinah" has been subjected to harsh censorship.

Syrian director Rasha Sharbatji confirmed that the current censorship in Syria, represented by the "National Drama Committee," differs from its predecessor during the previous regime, indicating that it is more flexible and less strict.
This comes in response to rumors about her new series "City Kitchen" facing "harsh" censorship objections or significant cuts.
Sharbatji denied, in a post on her official Instagram page, the accuracy of these reports, explaining that the censorship notes she has received so far were "within a logical and reasonable context."
She said: "As creators of the work, we confirm that, so far, the censorship notes have been within a logical context, not comparable to the censorship during the days of the former regime. Most of them were understandable, and some we discussed and refuted through communication with the National Drama Committee, which responded to us graciously."
The Syrian director expressed hope for abolishing pre-censorship on artistic works in the future, saying: "Our ambition as art creators is to reach a stage where pre-censorship on artistic works is abolished, following the example of advanced countries in this field. We always stand for artistic freedom and creativity in various forms, befitting the sacrifices of Syrians to achieve their freedom after decades of oppression and tyranny, appreciating cooperation with official entities in this regard."
On another note, Sharbatji revealed that preparations for filming the series "City Kitchen" are still ongoing in the capital Damascus, without a final start date for filming, indicating that the team is working to complete the work to the highest quality standards to be ready for presentation in the upcoming drama season.
