Within a project aiming to renovate 1500 houses across Syria, Qatar Charity has launched the first phase of renovating 300 houses in the village of Al-Umqiya, in the Sahl Al-Ghab area in northwestern rural Hama. This project is in collaboration with the Emergency Response Team as part of the comprehensive campaign to renovate homes damaged by the former regime's shelling, announced during the last blessed Ramadan within an extensive fundraising campaign by the people of Qatar. This charitable initiative is an extension of Qatar's efforts to support affected families in northern Syria by rehabilitating damaged homes and improving living conditions, contributing to restoring stability and hope for residents, especially those returning to their villages after years of displacement. During a speech at the launch event for the house renovation works, Abdul Aziz Hajji, Director of Development Operations at Qatar Charity, stated: "We are proud to be part of this project, which brings life back to Syrian villages that have long suffered from the ravages of war and displacement," emphasizing that house renovation is not just about building walls, but about rebuilding dignity, stability, and a future for families in dire need of security and support. Hajji expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the fundraising campaign on the night of the 27th of Ramadan, stating: "This project is a result of the blessed giving, and it will be implemented in coordination with local authorities to target the most vulnerable families, applying safety and quality standards in renovation to ensure the sustainability of the humanitarian impact of this intervention."
