Bobby Matar Sarr Lights Up His Hometown in Senegal with Electricity Project and Educational, Healthcare Donations

In a humanitarian gesture reflecting his connection to his roots, Tottenham Hotspur player Bobby Matar Sarr funded a project to provide electricity to his village of Fayako in Senegal, which was suffering from a lack of basic services. He also made donations to support education and healthcare in the village, influenced by the legacy of his Senegalese teammate Sadio Mane.

The British newspaper "The Sun" revealed that Sarr spent thousands of pounds to illuminate his hometown, a remote village located on a small island about 100 miles from the capital Dakar.

During his recent visit, the midfielder stated:"Work is already underway regarding the electricity connection, I hope Fayako will shine soon just like its people. I love this village, and I am proud of its people."

Sarr's support was not limited to electricity, but also included providing educational supplies for the local school, such as a "laptop, printer, and solar panels", in addition to building materials to expand the health center in the village.

With these initiatives, Tottenham star follows in the footsteps of former Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who previously donated £500,000 to build a hospital in his village of Bambali. The people of Fayako, including local leaders, gathered to express their gratitude to Sarr, who is considered a symbol of generosity in his community, and they call him the "son of the village".

It is worth mentioning that Sarr, now 22 years old, joined Tottenham in 2021 from the French club Metz, and contributed to the team winning the UEFA Europa League title last season.
